OnlineBMWParts.nl, part of Hedin Automotive after the acquisition of Dubbelsteyn, is the leading webshop for BMW enthusiasts in the Netherlands. With a wide range of original parts, accessories, and lifestyle products, the platform offers everything BMW drivers need to maintain or personalize their car. Each product reflects the brand’s precision and quality, supported by Hedin Automotive’s strong reputation for service. As the demand for digital convenience grew, so did the need for a webshop that matched the premium BMW experience.

The Problem

Following the acquisition, Hedin Automotive wanted to create a modern platform where customers could easily find and purchase individual BMW parts and accessories. The challenge was to simplify a highly technical product catalog while keeping it accurate and up to date. Customers needed an intuitive experience where every item matched their specific BMW model. To make that possible, the webshop had to connect directly to the official ETK database that contains all BMW products, models, and types.

The solution

We approached the project with one goal: to make buying BMW parts as effortless and precise as driving one. Using the Symfony framework as the foundation, we built a stable and flexible system. With Sylius, we created a scalable e-commerce platform that could expand to other markets in the future. By connecting the webshop to BMW’s ETK database, all product data now stays accurate and automatically updated. In combination with ElasticSearch, the webshop delivers instant, precise search results — even within an enormous catalog of parts.

The results

The new webshop completely changed how customers interact with OnlineBMWParts. From the first click, the experience is fast, logical, and unmistakably BMW. Clear design and model-based filtering guide users effortlessly to the right parts, while the powerful search engine ensures every result feels immediate.
