Van den Berk Nurseries is the specialist in avenue trees, conifers, topiary trees, and specimen trees and shrubs. With a range of 1,600 species and cultivars, from medium to very large, this family business, with over 80 years of experience, is one of the largest nurseries in Europe. Their trees grace locations throughout Europe, including iconic monuments like the Louvre in Paris.
Besides providing information, Van den Berk also wanted to sell trees and shrubs through the website. The biggest challenge was improving the searchability of the various species. Thanks to dozens of filters, such as tree species, color, fruit set, and bee appeal, customers can now easily find the perfect tree.
For Van den Berk, we divided the project into manageable steps. We started with a webshop that fully met their needs, including complex yet lightning-fast filters. We then continuously expanded the webshop with new features, such as customized content pages and multilingual support. Finally, we integrated the entire website into the webshop, resulting in a single, user-friendly system. The website is now available in all major European languages and is managed across more than a dozen domains.
Van den Berk Nurseries now generates a significant portion of its revenue online, with customers spread throughout Europe and beyond. The quotation process is fully automated: customers simply request a quote, salespeople can edit it with just a few clicks, and then effortlessly convert it into an order. This automation saves both customers and salespeople a significant amount of time, allowing them to focus more on advising customers who need additional support. The result? A more efficient organization and an improved customer experience.
